This month, Susan G. Komen North Texas met with Boy Scout Troop 291 to thank them for their years of service to our organization. For the past seven years, Troop 291 has volunteered at the Plano Race for the Cure in a variety of roles: assisting breast cancer survivors in the Survivor Tent, presenting the colors during the singing of the National Anthem, keeping the Race site clear from trash, and unloading our supply truck at the end of a hot and sweaty day.
We are so appreciative of the support that the Scouts and adult leaders give us year after year. Their kind, friendly, and hardworking demeanor is something that is looked forward to each year by our survivors, staff, and committee.
